Registration Date To VERBİS Is Extended Due To Covid-19

Due to Covid-19 epidemic, many workplaces stopped working physically or switched to home office working system. Because of the Covid-19 outbreak, it is difficult for the data controllers to prepare personal data processing inventory, prepare a data map and register to Registry Information System (VERBİS). According to the Data Protection Board’s decision dated 23/06/2020 and numbered 2020/482 and with the announcement published on Board’s website, registration dates to VERBİS are extended as follows:

  1. Individuals or legal entity data controllers, who are employing more than 50 personnel annually or having a total annual balance sheet above TRY 25,000,00 and who are residing abroad must enroll until 30.09.2020.
  2. Individuals or legal entity data controllers, who are employing less than 50 personnel annually or having a total annual balance sheet below TRY 25,000,00 but processing sensitive data as the main area of activity must enroll until 31.03.2021.
  3. Data controllers, who are state institutions or governmental organizations must enroll until 31.03.2021.
