Av. Furkan Şahankaya

Biography

Av. Furkan Şahankaya has graduated from Istanbul University, and earned his Master of Insurance degree at the Institute of Inurance and Banking, Marmara University. Following his graduation, he completed his legal internship at Istanbul Bar Association.

Av. Furkan Şahankaya has been a team member of Durukan ever since his first career day and has been mainly focusing on insurance law matters and gained many high-profile experiences on many different disciplines of insurance law. Currently he is mainly focusing on construction all-risk, third party loss, cyber risks, gas cylinder mandatory liability and cargo claims.

Av. Furkan Şahankaya is providing legal consultancy services to his clients on insurance arbitration and leads Construction Claims teams, one of our most key teams. One of Furkan’s main practice areas is providing legal services to insurance companies for settlement of insurance claims via settlement or mediation agreements and/or other alternative dispute resolution methods.

Furthermore, he has extensive experience on recourse claims of insurance receivables.

Av. Furkan Şahankaya have participated for numerous social responsibility projects and pro-bono legal services throughout his career. In addition to this, he attended to numerous legal certificate programs. Furkan is working at Durukan Law Firm since 2017
